“I would like to think that we can create more awareness of the Daddy’s role in blogging about their kids, and encourage more Dads to share their parenting experiences and places/activities to do with their kids in the process.” – Kelvin Ang, Cheekiemonkies

DAD BLOGGERS

Andy Lee
Sengkang Babies

Andy”s a super-smiley father of four, and determined to portray his family as “The Ambassadors of Fun”. His message to all the dads in Singapore? Forget “Stop at Two”. Keep going; the more the merrier!

David Sim
Life's Tiny Miracles
Isaiah Kuan
J Babies' Dad

When Isaiah started blogging, he did so hoping that his 2 daughters would read about it someday, like an open letter from a father to his daughters. Today, he continues to document family memories in images and words for everyone to cherish.

Nick Pan
nickpan.com

Nick has been a blogging since 2000, but has said he doesn’t quite fancy the words “blog” or “blogger”. Nonetheless, the professional web pundit and father of 3 takes an innovative approach to playing dad to his children, and it shows in the way he”s presented his family life online.

Steven Teo
The "Perfect" Father
Winston Tay
The Blogfather, Dear Xander

Winston started writing letters in a blog that was created as a gift for his son”s 3rd birthday. In March 2012 he tried to start Blogfathers! SG with the intention to bring together an online dad community. But life threw a couple of rather weird curve balls at him that year, so he had to shelve the idea. Not wanting to waste a couple of good domain names, so he now blogs under the very humble name, The Blogfather.

Christopher Vu
christophervu.com

While the rest of us tell our stories through words, Christopher tells his through pictures. His knack for quiet visual expression is very much felt in Daddy Matters as well; since the group”s inception, he hasn’t spoken a single word during any our discussions. But his work speaks for itself, and for Daddy Matters, that”s really more than enough.

Eddie Yii
Stranger in Bangkok
Kelvin Ang
Cheekiemonkies

Kelvin started blogging in 2005, taking over the reins when his wife (who started the blog as a diary to document their first child”s growth development) had to return to work after her maternity leave. He hasn’t stopped since, and has even gained a reputation among his readers as a go-to dad for great ideas on family activities and fun places to visit in Singapore.

Nivlek
Daddy Nivlek

When the April Fool”s joke that preceded this community was in full swing among the Singapore parent blogger community, the idea did not sit very well with Nivlek (we call him that because 2 bloggers called Kelvin Ang is quite a weird administrative issue here at Daddy Matters). It was all the more important that he be involved in the creation of the group, because every community needs a check-and-balance guy, right?

Tay Liren
成家 - Becoming Home
Daddy M
The Wacky Duo

Daddy M writes in the voice of his two sons, to “showcase the magic of family fun”. The boys cover a wide range of topics such as family activities, travel, consumer products, parenting, lifestyle and more. When the boys aren”t talking through their father, Daddy M has been known to give his takes on parenthood, social issues and personal insights on life.

Edmund Tay
Ed Unloaded

Edmund has been all over the place. Thanks to his blog, the father of three has been able to contribute his vast knowledge in family and social media to numerous organisations such as the Media Literacy Council, Nanyang Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic.

Lucian Teo
Tribolum.com
Patrick Pang
patrickpang.com

Patrick is a father of 3, always eager to share his fatherhood experience with parents. He”s also a dedicated community volunteer, and was one of the first “Shapers” for the Global Shapers Community (Singapore Hub), a local initiative overseen by the World Economic Forum.

Vincent Lee
roamingglass

Vincent dropped out of blogging for a short while after experiencing some “fatherhood issues”. But he started blogging again… after talking to the very guys that are now our First Eleven. He”s come out stronger since, not just as a blogger, but as a father to his 2 sons, and he has all our respect.

“It’s tough being parents, and that’s no joke; school, health, aspirations, Singapore stress, work, money, dreams, etc. I feel honest sharing of struggles, exchanging ideas, etc is always good, (and) sharing what we do with our kids could inspire others with ideas on interesting things to do with their kids or interesting places to go.” – Nick Pan
